Reign Of Mr. Fashion
Is popularity everything? In
general, everyone wants to be popular.
Does not the quote “Tastes and interests are not to argue” mean anything
? As to clothing, there a word appears :
Fashion. It does not necessarily mean
that you have to take it into consideration, if there is a word called
“Fashion”. At this point, it is not
reasonable to me to wear what is popular by ignoring individual tastes and
interests. Every individual has a unique
taste and should not try to be like someone else rather that being himself.
As to start, ignoring individual
tastes and interests and wearing what Mr. Fashion dictates are some kinds of
slavery of thoughts. You do not have to
follow the fashion. You have your own
thoughts and can decide on what is fashionable for yourself. To illustrate, if everyone follows fashion
and ignores themselves, what would happen?
A scene appears : Same colours and same styles are everywhere. What a stereotypical scene is it? It seems like The Army of The Reign of Mr.
Fashion.
As a continuing idea of prevailing
paragraph, people lost their identities and self-esteem. They try to be like other popular people and
think that it is a good way to stand out in the society. By following fashion, which murders their own
tastes, they become fuzzy shades of a regular fashion-follower and lost their
own identities. While following fashion,
people also tend not to share their own thoughts directly and damage their
self-esteem. At this point, they accept
what is popular without any question and cannot realize themselves which leads
to some characteristic corruptions in their later lives.
Opposingly,
some people claim that the fashion must be followed by everyone to keep up with
the pace of life and stay
up-to-date. They also say that if there
is no fashion, we cannot know what is fashionable or not. The point they are mistaken is that they all
confuse fashion with popularity.
Everyone can create one’s own fashion and that fashion do not have to be
popular. On the other side, popularity
makes its place on people’s minds bigger day by day and occupy everything in
life just like fashion.
Consequently, We should not let the
popularization invade our ethics, fashion does not necessarily have to be
wide-spreadly accepted. Every individual
in each society has his own right to create a unique fashion of his. Through this way, the diversity and the
colourfulness in fashion make society better to live.
